Virtual Livestock Sale
DATES: JUNE 11 - 13, 2020
Plans continue to move forward on the first-ever Merced County Fair Virtual Livestock Sale, supported by Merced Irrigation District (MID), to help the Merced County Fair 4-H and FFA exhibitors sell nearly 500 animals through the StockShowAuctions.com (SSA) online sales platform. The virtual sale will take place starting Thursday, June 11 at 8 a.m. and go until Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. Market beef, market goats, market sheep, market swine, market rabbits, and dairy replacement heifers will be included in the virtual sale.
“Agriculture has long been the backbone of the Merced County Fair and while today's world with COVID-19 is prohibiting us from having our annual fair, it will not stop us from holding a sale for our hard-working 4-H and FFA exhibitors. I look forward to their innovative outreach in securing buyers for our new virtual livestock sale,”
said Teresa Burrola, CEO of the Merced County Fair.
The fair’s non-profit foundation, Friends of the Merced County Fair has committed to covering the costs of the online sale platform, as well as all sale commissions – so every dollar spent by buyers will go directly to the students! Two local businesses have already stepped up to support exhibitors in the Virtual Livestock Sale. Dr. J.L. Byerly D.V.M. of Sierra Gateway Veterinary Clinic is committing $10,000 in add-on bids, with Yosemite Farm Credit committing $20,000.
Buyers (New & Returning) will need to register here.
