Here's what Loura has to say about her project and why she became involved in FFA.

"My project this year is a Boer Goat. It’s my third year showing goats and at the Merced fair I'll be showing a market goat and three breeding goats. Also this year I'm going to be showing two goats that were born on my ranch from my breeding Boer Goat project. Im also taking part in the merced horse show. I'm so excited to show because it’s my first time showing this horse and I got to train her to do pleasure classes and Gymkhana events.
I got involved with FFA because when I was younger I always loved animals and even had two little goats. Once I was old enough, I went into 4-H. I started showing boer goats for two years until I got into FFA. I joined FFA so I could just show animals until I realized there was so much more to it. Soon enough, I started doing speaking competitions with my friends and making new friends along the way.

FFA is important to me because it’s the future of agriculture and because it teaches us kids how to be responsible for ourselves and to our animals. It also teaches us to have a work ethic and how to stay committed to a project."
