Aubrie Hazan

Gustine FFA

Senior at Gustine High School

Aubrie began showing market lambs at the Merced County Fair as a 4th grader in Westside 4-H. She then branched out to goats, swine, and a MMCA beef replacement heifer by her 8th grade year. As a freshman, she joined Gustine FFA where she has continued to show sheep, goats, and swine. Aubrie owns and operates her own small livestock production business, where she breeds and raises sheep and goats. Her project for the 2020 Merced Fair is a market lamb that was bred and raised from her flock.

In Gustine FFA Aubrie has also been involved in public speaking competitions, where she was 3rd place in the state her freshman year in the Creed Speaking Contest and is currently getting ready to compete at the Regional level for the Job Interview Contest. She has also competed on both the Livestock Judging Team and the Food Science and Technology Judging Team; earlier this year she was awarded 3rd place individual in the state in Food Science as well as being on the Reserve Champion State Champion Food Science Team. Aubrie has been involved in many leadership opportunities, including being a Gustine FFA Chapter Officer and a Merced Mariposa Sectional FFA Officer. She has attended many leadership conferences, and earlier this year served as a National Delegate to represent California FFA at the National Convention. Outside of school, Aubrie is a Teen Leader for the Leadership Project for Westside 4-H, serves her community at Miss Gustine, and was recently named the 1st runner up Miss May Day. Aubrie will be attending Modesto Junior College to major in Animal Science and plans to transfer to Kansas State University.
