FAIR SWITCHES TO FIVE DAYS

To save money, stretch budgets and avoid increasing admission and other prices, the Merced County Fair’s Board of Directors has decided to offer a five-day fair in 2011 – starting the fair on Wednesday instead of Tuesday – will be done on a trial basis. [More]

2011 FAIR HOURS:

Wednesday through Friday, June 15-17, 5pm to 12:30am.

Saturday & Sunday, June 18-19, Fair Opens at 3:00pm to 12:30am.

2011 ONLINE TICKETING HAS ENDED – Purchase Tickets Sunday at the Fair:

Our online Admit One ticketing outlet has closed.

After 5pm June 14th regular price tickets:

ADMISSION:

General Admission Ticket $10 each (13 years and over)

Children 6 through 12 Admission Ticket $3 each

Children 5 and under get FREE admission

CARNIVAL RIDES:

All-Day-Ride Carnival Coupon $30 (exchange for Unlimited Ride Wrist Wrap, good any one day of the Fair)

SUNDAY: GRAN JARIPEO

Sunday's Grandstand entertainment features Gran Jaripeo starring Ezequiel Pena, singing while riding his Andalusian horse. The band, Arkangel R-15, also will entertain the Grandstand crowd and there will be bull riding in this 3-hour show that starts at 5 p.m.

Admission to the Gran Jaripeo is in addition to general fair admission. Advance tickets cost $15 each and are available at the following Merced locations: Rancho San Miguel Market; Carniceria Vallarta, Prestigio Jewelers at Merced Mall and Fantastic Furniture. In Fresno, tickets are available at The Rainbow Ballroom. Tickets at the door are $20. For information, call (559) 289-7771.

2011 EXHIBITOR'S HANDBOOK and ENTRY FORMS ARE ONLINE

View the 2011 Exhibitor's Handbook!Enter your favorite talent, hobby, plant, craft, fine art, or photography in the Fair! Most entry forms are deadline May 12.

Enter 2011 "Day Of" Cooking Contests during the Fair... with your entry get free admission!

See "Day of" contest information in the Exhibitor's Handbook. It contains instructions and rules for fair exhibitors.

Free printed books are available at the Fair office or view, download and print from the online handbook and entry forms.

PART OF G STREET WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC DURING THE FAIR

To keep pedestrians safe when walking to or from the Merced County Fair, the portion of G Street between Childs Avenue and West 11th Street will be closed to through traffic during the fair.
